Radunz Ze John C.Goodrich, Secretary ee KK KR OR KOK OK OK OK ROR KOK OK OK OK OK OK OK OK KOK OK KOK KOK K KOK KK KOK OY SHIPS Colonial Steamships, Ltd. have purchased seven canallers from the if Hall Corporation of Canada. the vessels, built between 1927 and E 1930 are the re L.EATON, WALTER B.REYNOLDS, CONISCLIFFE HALL, EAGLES- CLIFFE MEADCLIFFE HALL, ROCKCLIFFE HALL and WESTCLIFFE HALL. They will be renamed for the 1955 season, and will be engaged largely in carry- ing Labrador ore to the Great Lakes. Hall Corporation is expected to re- place the sold vessels with newer ships. The Finnish freighter HAMINA, 0 which sailed the Lakes for many years as the package freighter NORTH STAR and later as H.A.SCANDRETT, has been sold for scrapping in Belgium. Like- .w wise, Belgian shipbréakers have obtained the former LAKE FLATONIA, built in 1919 at Duluth. The Norwegian freighter CHICAGO, formerly the LYSAKER IV and VALE OF MOWBRAY, built in 1924 at Haverton Hill, England, is re- ported to have been sold to buyers in Chicago, Ill. The Dutch freighter PRINS WILLEM V, foundered a few miles out of Milwaukee after colliding with an oil barge. It is: reported to be a total loss. While undergoing’ demolition at Sandwich, the old CITY OF CLEVELAND III, burned to the bare hull in a spectacular blaze early in October. The remains are likewise ~ deemed valueless. The new GOERGE M.HUMPHREY is now in service. Work con- tinues on the conversion of the MARINE STAR at Muskegon.
