Our hosts will be the Quarterdeck Club, the student organization of this department at U. of M. At 1:00 P.M. we will gather at the Allenel Hotel Dining Room in downtown Ann Arbor for lunch. In a brief program after the luncheon there will be a talk by Professor L.M.Baier, Chairman of the Department, and one by our Vice President, Mr.F.J.McAllister, Then we will all go to the West Engineering Building on the U. of M. Campus to visit the hull testing tank and the hull storage rooms, and have a ride on the towing bridge. This meeting should be interesting and informing to all. Plan now to attend. MORE ON WAR MIDST, Manitowoc, later LAKE GREENWOOD, CATHERINE, STRAT- THE LAKERS FORD, GRANTON GLEN & ANNE DE BRETAGNE, was omitted from our list of the "Lakers". This ship was scrapped in Italy last year. In future issues we will add lists of similar Canadian vessels, of the N-3 type built on the Lakes in World War II, and the C1-M-AV1 type of the same era. SHIPS The former B.H.TAYLOR is now the ROGERS CITY, and the A.F.HARVEY will come out this season as CEDARVILLE. YOUNGSTOWN has been re- named WALTER E.WATSON. The old tug J.R.SPRANKLE has been abandoned. The JOSEPH S.YOUNG ( ex ARCHERS HOPE) is being converted to a self unloader at Manitowoc. REISS BROTHERS (ex WILLIAM K FIELD) has been repowered at Toledo. The tanker COMET opened the Soo Locks on April 5th.
