THESE WERE THE DAYS of the excursion steamers when every- one packed a picnic lunch and took off for a beautiful day on the water. Put-in-Bay was a favorite spot on a hot sum- mer day and the steamers, loaded with happy excursionists, came from Detroit, Cleveland and Sandusky in great numbers, This memento of that happy time is from a postcard in the © collection of fellow member Earl Brewer, one of the few who, as wheelsman on the Bob-Lo Lines COLUMBIA, is still engaged in the great trade of providing the people with fun afloat.
