Last month's photo showing the ISABELLA J. BOYCE and tow brought re- plies from Walter Pidgeon, Capt. H.C. Inches, Father Dowling, William A. McDonald and Kenneth E. Smith that the barge was the JOHN J. BARLUM. A few identified it as the IRON CLIFF which the BOYCE also towed.McDonald reports the two boats were identical EXCEPT the IRON CLIFF had square spars while those on the BARLUM were tapered.
