Launched May 3, 1963, the new CSL flagship was christened, put on lake trials and departed on her maiden voy- age to Duluth on the same day, July 18. Collingwood Shipyards built this bulk carrier, keel laying to delivery, in nine months, to seta yard record for a laker of this class.
