Walton From color by and courtesy of Robert W. Fellow-member Robert W. Walton, one of the few commercial photographers of the world who limits his profession strictly to marine photography, recently returned froma ee to Panama. He sent us this photograph with a note: "Concerning photo- graphs I took in Panama, I took an awful Lot of ships that travel through, but 1 did mola one ship that was of considerable interest to me, and if it didn't Look Like a Laker, I've never seen a Laker. 1 believe it must be one of the ‘dransport" class boats. It's now called CAPTAIN THEO and it carries otk from somewhere in the Bahamas to Panama or viceversa.” Right you are, Mr. Walton, for CAPTAIN THEO is indeed an old friend far from home. Built in England in 1931, she came to the Lakes as BRITAMOLENE for the British—Amer- ican Oil fleet, passing into the Gayport fleet in 1948. In 1959 she went into the Hall fleet as WAVE TRANSPORT. She left the Lakes as FLORENCE B. in 1963. We are happy to see that she is still going strong in the Canal Zone. SPRING, 1968, GENERAL MEETINGS..... ...Sat., March 23 R.
