Principal dimensions are as follows: Length (OA) 730', beam 75', depth 46'6", gross tonnage 21,436, net tonnage 16,608. besigned for the coal trade between ports on Lake Erie and Ontario Hydro stations on Lake Ontario, she is the largest deadweight carrying self-unloader on the Great Lakes. Cargo is discharged at the rate of 4,500 tons per hour over a 250' boom. The complete unloading system can be controlled from a deck position. Pro- pulsion system consists of two 4,000-hp Ruston & Hornsby diesel en- gines turning a four-bladed, variable-pitch propeller. Control of the propeller is available either from the wheelhouse or the engineroom. A 1,000-hp bowthruster has been fitted to aid control of the vessel in confined areas. Paul Sherlock
