The tug NORTH CAROLINA (a.L.C. SABIN) sank off Mentor-on-the- Lake, O., in December while en- route from Cleveland to Buffalo. The crew was rescued by Coast Guard. A late report says the tug was raised and is being re- built. The veteran Canadian Coast Guard cutter GRENVILLE sank in the Beauharnois Canal while removing buoys Dec. 18.
