Arison Shipping Company, of Miami, has announced the purchase of the Georgian Bay Line which would enable it to re-establish cruise ship operations on the Great Lakes, Erwin J. Goebel retained rights to the Georgian Bay name and will be chief executive officer of a new firm to be known as Georgian Bay Line, Inc. SUNWARD, shown here in a photo by Bob Zeleznik, is owned by Arison and is rumored to be a possible Lakes entrant in the 1970 season. In addition, the company is reportedly having some new boats built, possibly designed for Great Lakes use.
