TOLEDO SUN was up the Welland on May 16, another apparent maiden voyage. J. L. MAUTHE struck something in the channel near Point Aux Frenes on May 5. She was down- pound in the St. Marys with ore. She went on to Cleveland to un- load and then to drydock. Tug TIFFIN was down at Detroit on May 30 and down the Welland on May 31. Where was she going? Has she been sold? The Museum of the Upper Lakes, built over the bones of the old schooner NANCY on Nancy Island in the Nottawasaga River, was dedicated on May 28. It is reported that SIR THOMAS SHAUGHNESSY is all done. She was eastbound in the Seaway under her own power on May 22. SHIPYARD SHAVINGS Amship is apparent low bidder on a $5.5 million patrol-escort FPF-107 for the Navy. The vessel will be built at Toledoe C.S.L.'s BADOUSSAC launched her- self 15 minutes ahead of sche- dule at Collingwood on May 29. Two shipbuilders were killed and a number injured when she slid off the ways as the men were preparing the launch. Canadian Vickers has announced that they have gone out of the shipbuilding business but will continue to repair ships.
