The shakedown was slated for Nov. 20 with her maiden trip from Cwen Sound to the Canadian Soo due the foliowing day. The $8.6 million vessel was the only one of its kind built in Canadian shipyards in 1970 and one of only two addit- iona.to the Canadian fleet during the year. AGAWA CANYON brings the self-unloading fleet of Algoma Central Railway to four, all built since 1964, and gives the Algoma fleet almost 21 percent of the self-unloading capacity of Canadian lake shipping. The company also operates three bulk freighters.
