Photo by the Author A new addition to the Canadian Great Lakes fleet this season is the JUDITH M. PIERSON a) WILLIAM A. AMBURG, b) ALBERT E. HEEKIN, c) SILVER BAY. This 550-footer last operated for Kinsman Marine Transit in July, 1973, and had gone into lay-up at Toledo. Rumors of her sale for scrapping continued into the current season but she passed to Robert Pierson Holdings, Ltd., and returned to service on March 276 This vessel is now managed by Westdale Shipping and is in the bulk trade through the Seaway. She is currently receiving a black hull with white forecastle and cabins. Her stack is rather impress- ive being silver with a black cap and large black shamrock. The JUDITH M. PIERSON is shown on May 3 as she approaches the fuel dock at Port Colborne. She was bound for Sorel with a load of grain at the time.
