Paterson's new SOODOC, small freighter, similar to ONTADOC, was launched at Collingwood on April 29. Sye will go into service in mid-summer. Canada Steamship Lines has pur- chased the Panamanian ocean freighter GAUCHO TAURO, built in Japan in 1968, 30,888 tons and renamed it ST. LAWRENCE. Lengthening of the JOHN G. MUNSON is nearly finished at Superior. W.F.WHITE was towed from Duluth to To- ronto, passing Detroit on May 6. She will, among other things, be converted for oil fuel at Toronto, and be renamed ERINDALE, as previously reported.
