Photo The newest 1,000 foot vessel, this one entirely built on the Great Lakes, was commissioned in early August of this year. She is shown on her maiden voyage, up- bound past Marine City on Sunday Aug. 8, 1976. Her overall length is 1,000', height 115', beam 105', depth 50' and a draft of 28'. Her cargo capacity is 59,000 gross tons. She was named after the Chairman, President and Chief Executive of Moore Mc- Cormack Resources, Inc., parent company of Pickands Mather & Co. of Cleveland. Since her first. trip up the lower Lakes, the BARKER has operated on Lake Michigan.
