The RUTH HINDMAN is cut down to about two feet above water and she will disappear after the ice leaves the Kam River where she is being scrapp- ed. * A fire which gutted the forward crews quarters on board the W.W. HOLLOWAY undergoing repairs at the American Shipbuilding Co. docks at South Chicago, was extinguished by fire fighters on Feb. 17. Two decks of the forward crew quarters were gutted but the pilot house on top of the quarters was not damaged.
