Our fellow member Hal Jackson, passed away June 21, 1977. Hal is well remembered by the members of the Society, having served as President, member of the Advisory Council, and the one-man 25-year member committee. Hal's interests were in shipping, railroading and tugs. Hal's dry humor and gentle characteristics will be re- membered by all of us. Our sincere sympathy to Aggie and her son and daughter. RESOLUTION Be It Resolved, that the Marine Historical Society of Detroit, through the Advisory Council, express its deep appreciation to Mrs. Hal Jackson for the extraordinary work done for the society, working to keep the society active even when his own physical condition would have indicated to the average person to "let the other guy do it!" While no one is indispensible, Hal came as close to that mark as anyone ever has. R.A.Z. 6
