Named for a famous Door County resident of the late 1800's who lost his fingers and legs from frostbite after crossing from Detroit Island to Washington Island, and nevertheless later operated a cable ferry across the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal. 1979-1980 OFFICERS At the Advisory Council meeting on June 16, 1979, the following officers were elected for the coming year: . Paul LaMarre President + Don Dube Vice-President « Bob Zeleznik Secretary . Bill Luke Treasurer In addition, Curt Hazeltine, Bill Luke, Jim Morris, Sr., and Pete Worden were elected to the Advisory Council by the general membership in the recent election. LeAnne LaMarre was elected by the Advisory Council to fill the vacancy caused by the untimely death of Russ Parkinson.
