KR KKK The Seaway Towing Company commenced operations at the Soo in 1978 with the purchase of two tugs -- the MICHIGAN and OREGON -- from Great Lakes Towing Company. In 1981, these two tugs were transferred to Duluth when North American Towing, an affiliated company, was formed there and at other ports on the Great Lakes.
