UNIDENTIFIED SAILING OBJECTS Many times we come across photos of ships we cannot identify simply because their names are obscured. We don't have UFO's but USO's - Unidentified Sailing/Steam Ships. We cannot identify these photos simply because we do not have others to compare ther with. I have come across many ship photos that even the experts cannot name. Because there are so members in our Society, I thought it would profit all of us if someone in our Society could possibly recognize certain ships that they know and could identify. Henceforth, in 1) Steam Tug? - Seems to be a W.W. II conversion but what ship? = 2) Steamer - Steel Freighter. Stack marking has a white shield with dark letters - S.Co. inside. <q How about the wooden steamer ahead? =o varied issues, we will print some photos that still have not been identified. Can you do it? Please write me and I'll put your identification of the ship/ships in the next issue. If any member wants to submit a black and white unidentified ship photo for identification, please send it to me and welll give our members a crack at it. Some of these will be easy, others more difficult. Let's see what happens. Take a good look and let me know. Tell me why too! Fr. Pete
