Register closed March 6, 1984. JOHN A. HOLLOWAY - Burlington Canal 1931 12. WATKINS F. NISBET (C 147230) steel canaller built in 1923 at Birkenhead, England by Cammel Laird (Hull #902): 253.0 x 43.2 x 17.8; 1747 gross tons. Damaged while on convoy in the North Sea and run ashore at Llanddyn Beach, on the coast of Wales in December, 1940. Stern half later salvaged for the engine. Bow section still visible there in the 1960s. 13. JOHN S. PILLSBURY (C 149071) steel canaller built in 1926 at Hull, England by Earles Shipbuilding & Engineering Company (Hull #668): 253.1 x 43.2 x 17.8; 1754 gross tons. Scrapped at Port Dalhousie in 1964. 14. ROBERT W. POMEROY (C 147076) steel canaller built in 1923 at Hull, England by Earles Shipbuilding & Engineering Company (Hull #643): 253.0 x 43.2 x 17.8; 1750 gross tons. Struck a mine and broke her back in heavy seas and sunk by gunfire on April 1, 1942. 53.10 N/O1.10 FE. 15. JOHN J. RAMMACHER (C 147080) steel canaller built in 1923 at Hull, England by Earles Shipbuilding & Engineering Company (Hull #644): 253.0 x 43.2 x 17.8; 1723 gross tons. Renamed b) WALLACEBURG in 1956.
