Clam dredging of the scrap site there was required prior to OUTARDE's arrival as sections of NORDALE remained at the canal bank. *** At Thunder Bay, Shearmet began scrapping of the former P&H steamer SPRUCEGLEN in early August, by which time the former Tin-Stacker JOHN HULST had been reduced to a canoe-shaped shell. *** The tug CAPT. IOANNIS S. cleared Quebec City on August 30th with the former Hanna steamer LEON FALK, JR., and Carryore, Ltd. steamer MENIHEK LAKE in tow. The trio was off Sept-Iles on September 2nd. *** The tug Editor's Photo IRVING CEDAR arrived at Lisbon on May 19th with the former Nipigon Transports steamer LAKE WINNIPEG, while the tug KORAL safely reached San Esteban de Pravia, Spain on June 24th with the former Cliffs' steamer PONTIAC and Bethlehem steamer JOHNSTOWN. *** Port Weller Dry Docks has signed an agreement to begin construction of a 130-foot passenger and cargo ferry for CN Marine to serve the coastal waters of Newfoundland and eastern Canada. She will be 236' x 50'; will have cabin accomondations for 86 passengers and be strengthened for ice navigation. *** The new bow for ARCTIC will also be built and fitted this winter at Port Weller Dry Docks.
