MARSHALL) at Recife, 3razil an September 22 under tow of JANTAR. *** The St. Vincent -registered salty SIRIUS departed Montreal on November 4 bound for Italy. As reported in last month's Historian, her captain, Fredrich Helling of West Germany, disappeared mysteriously while the salty was underway in northern Lake Michigan bound for Duluth from Chicago. *** LEWIS G. HARRIMAN, idle in Alpena since 1980, arrived under tow at Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay on October 21 where she was drydocked. On November 10, Selvick Marine's CARL WILLIAM SELVICK and MINNIE SELVICK towed her to Green Bay where she will load a cargo of storage cement for the winter. *** On November 11, FORT YORK arrived at Lauzon under tow of Sandrin Brother's TUSKER and the Quebec-based ROBERT H. The ROBERT H. replaced GLENADA for the remaining 90 miles Sold for off lakes use in 1973. Towed to Norfolk, Virginia. between Trois-Rivieres and Lauzon GLENADA had mechanical problems. Interlake's HARRY COULBY, idle since 1981, was placed on the drydock at Fraser Shipyard on November 16, and came off a week later. *** On November 21, MCM-1 AVENGER cleared the Seaway bound for the Arabian Gulf via Halifax. MCM-1 AVENGER (224 x 11.3 38.11; 1,250 gross tons) is the lead ship of the “Avenger Class" Mine Countermeasure Program and is the U. S. as KHER Navy's largest wooden-hulled ship. *** The former Canadian Coast Guard vessel EDWARD, ex -EDWARD-CORNWALLIS, was upbound at the St. Lambert lock on November 23 under tow of McKeil's W N TWOLAN and STORMONT bound for Cobourg Ontario where she will be used privately. She arrived at Cobourg November 25. *** YP 695 was downbound at the St. Lambert lock November 24 on her delivery trip to the East Coast. *** U.S. Steel has sold ROGERS CITY to Corostel Trading Ltd. of Montreal for scrapping overseas. She was downbound past Detroit on November 28 in tow of Purvis Marine's AVENGER IV and Gaelic's WM A WHITNEY. ROGERS CITY (US 223352) was built in 1923 as Hull #787 of the American Shipbuilding Company at Lorain, Ohio; 552 x 60.3 x 32; 7,318 gross tons. She was launched as a) 38 H TAYLOR and renamed b) ROGERS CITY in 1957. *** The coastal tanker IMPERIAL QUEBEC was sold to Coastal Shipping Ltd.
