CORNELIUS (U.S. 278853) were with American Steamship as listed in the 1957 Supplement, Volume Two of the Marine Historian. The CORNELIUS was the "(new self- unloader) - to be laid down at Manitowoc, Autumn of 1957." Beginning in this issue vessels purchased and new construction are listed. In 1961 Boland and Cornelius bought two vessels from the Pioneer Steamship Co., the J.S. ASHLEY and the DAVID P. THOMPSON. In 1964 they purchased the JOHN T.
