ROBERT A. ZELEZNIK In the 44-year history of this organization, no one member has evidenced more interest and dedication than Bob Zeleznik. He died on February 6th at the age of 69. To those of us who knew and worked with Bob, it was clear that the Society was indeed a very important part of his life. His devotion to its purposes was obvious. His involvement in its growth is evident. His hand in its direction was steadfast. No greater proof of Bob's love and devotion to our Society can be had than review of its roster of officers through the years. He assumed the duties of Secretary in June 1949 and held that assignment with only two interruptions for the succeeding 39 years. He served as Society President from 1953 through 1955. The Marine Historical Society of Detroit has lost one of its staunchest leaders. To his devoted wife, Wilma and daughter, Virginia, we extend our heartfelt sympathies.
