MIGHTY SERVANT | Steel TD-E RoRo Cargo/Semi-submersible Deck Cargo Ship (Netherlands 21130) built in 1983 at Nagasaki, Japan by Oshima Shipbuilding Company Limited (Hull#10072) for Wijsmuller B.V.: 474.79 X 132.45 X 31.19; 19,954 gross tons. ale THE LOG As Imperial Oil's IMPERIAL ACADIA was docked at the small French island of Miquelon, off the southern coast of the Island of Newfoundland, a violent winter storm hit. She was repeatedly driven against the dock, puncturing her hull. On February 2, she proceeded under her own power for a short trip to Marystown, Newfoundland, however, it was determined that she was too large to fit into the drydock. Imperial Oil then decided to repair the 120-foot gash in her side at Halifax Shipyard in Halifax. Since damages made her unseaworthy, the 160 meter semi-submersible deck cargo vessel MIGHTY SERVANT | was brought in from the Netherlands and on March 16, both vessels arrived in Halifax. Cost of transporting IMPERIAL ACADIA from Marystown was reported to be $300,000. *** NORSTAR, ex KINGDOC, was sold in March and was renamed LUCKY STAR.
