KATHY LYNN departed Charleston on April 6 and arrived in Cheboygan April 20 after completing her 3,400 mile delivery trip. *** On May 15, the Dutch-registered tanker THEODORA ran aground after apparently missing a buoy as she left the Welland Canal to enter Lake Erie. THEODORA was freed five hours later, with no damage or spill reported, and continued on to Cleveland with her cargo of coal tar. *** On May 16, in ceremonies at the MIL Davie shipyard in Levis, Quebec, the Canadian naval frigate VILLE DE QUEBEC was christened and launched. She is the first of three frigates to be built by Davie under the Canadian Patrol Frigate Program. **%% On May 23, a rechristening ceremony was held in Cleveland for the Great Lakes Historical Society's WILLIAM G. MATHER. The MATHER’s original "1925" sponsor, Clare Schneider Kirchner, was on hand and with the assistance of Cleveland's mayor Michael R. White, broke the bottle of champagne against the MATHER, marking her official opening as a museum ship on Cleveland's E. 9th Street Pier. Fund raising efforts continue, and the Great Lakes Historical Society is offering limited edition prints of a Kinley T. Shogren painting of the MATHER in her glory days steaming out of the Cleveland harbor ($175 numbered and signed, $125 unsigned). Also, personalized brass plaques which will be mounted inside the MATHER are available for a $100 contribution, and for a $45 contribution, a personalized flag will be made and flown over her. Mary Ann Ingram, wife of the LAKE GUARDIAN’s captain Ronald Ingram, broke the traditional bottle of champagne across her bow. LAKE GUARDIAN will cruise the Great Lakes on it's EPA mission of monitoring the water quality of the Lakes. In other related news, EPA Administrator William K.
