p.2 Portsmouth Items - Mr. D. McPhie, late manager of the St. Lawrence & Chicago Forwarding Company, has written to the Reeve asking for a transfer of the lease of property to the Montreal Transportation Company. The Village Council will discuss the matter.

It is stated that the Montreal Transportation Company have secured all the property between the village and the long pier, water front, and the talk is that all the repairing and vessel building will be done there.

p.3 Here & There - Notice is given to vessel owners that no vessels will be permitted to pass up or down the Welland Canal with fixed bowsprits, as stipulated in canal regulation No. 8.
