p.3 Steamer Hastings Sold - H.W. Van Every, Toronto, has just completed a sale of the steamer Hastings, of Kingston, owned by C.F. Gildersleeve, to Mr. Charles Chamberlin, Toronto, for $16,800 cash.

The Bay Is Closed - The Varuna has laid up at Trenton for the season. She managed to cut through the ice yesterday to Picton, but there is more money lying at the dock than running under such disadvantages. Navigation last year practically closed on November 29th, and the ferry Prince Edward stopped running on Dec. 2nd.

Here & There - The schr. Herbert Dudley is loading barley at Eilbeck's for Oswego.
