p.2 Latest Local News - Mr. Cousineau, formerly of str. Corsican, will act as steward on str. Hero this year.

Norseman being overhauled at Port Hope preparatory to opening of navigation.

New Barges - It is said that the Montreal Transportation Company will build two new barges, with iron framework, next summer. The frames will be purchased in Scotland.

p.3 Here & There - a Rideau canal barge is being built at Deseronto.

The hull of the D.D. Calvin has been painted green, the bulwarks white.

F. Smith, of Picton, appointed steward of Alexandria.

Four captains applied to sail schr. St. Louis, now lying at Swift's dock.
