A Captain Killed - The information comes by telegraph that Capt. Short, of the schr. Bavaria, was killed at Port Arthur some days ago and that the body has reached his home, Port Dalhousie. No further particulars have been secured. Capt. Short was one of the oldest employees of Calvin & Son. He was about fifty years of age and was married and leaves a large family.
It is thought Capt. Short was killed while loading timber near Point Aux Sauble. Capt. Booth carried a pipe owned by Capt. Short, which he took from him at the late D.D. Calvin's funeral.
Maloney Triumphs - charged Capt. Crawford, Capt. Gaskin of M.T. Co. with blocking Queen St. slip; Magistrate orders it opened up.
