Schooner GEORGE MURRAY. Of 790 tons. Built Manitowoc in June 1873, by G.S. Rand. Home port, Racine. Owned by Slauson & others. Value, $27,000. Class A 1. REMARKS:-- Three masts. New deck, 1878.

      At Manitowoc, the 21st, the GEORGE MURRAY, the largest vessel ever built on Lake Michigan was launched. She is 209 ft. long, 34 ft. wide and 14 ft. deep. Her carrying capacity is 50,000 bu. wheat. She was built by G.S. Rand for J.R. Slauson, of Racine.
