Boat Launch. - A new canal boat of the largest class was launched from the boat yard of Mr. Mattoon yesterday. She is called the "John C. Churchill," in honor of Judge Churchill of our city. Her dimensions are length, 97 feet, breadth of beam 17 feet 5 inches, and draws, when loaded, 5 feet 9 inches; and is capable of carrying 9,000 bushels of grain. The mechanical work of the boat has been under the superintendence of Mr. A. J. Lewis, and will bear a comparison with any boat that navigates the "raging canawl."
