Steam screw ROME.* U.S. No. 125751. Of 1,847 tons gross; 1,721 tons net. Built at Cleveland, Ohio., in 1879. Home port, Buffalo, N.Y. 265.0 x 36.8 x 16.4 and a crew of 22. Of 600 Indicated horse power.
      *Formerly steam screw CHICAGO.
      Merchant Vessel List, U.S., 1902
     
     
The old steamer CHICAGO of the Western Transit Co. has been rechristened ROME to make way for the new steel steamer.
