HIRAM R. DIXON.- Booth Fish Company (Chicago) packet built in 1883 at Mystic CT. On the Lakes since 1892. Sold Canadian in 1901. Sailed on Georgian Bay for the Dominion Fish Co., a Booth subsidiary. Burned at Michipicoten Harbour, Lake Superior, in 1903. According to the Milwaukee Public Library, rebuilt in 1904 as Caribou at Goderich - probably just bits and pieces were used.

CARIBOU - "Canadian steamboat built in 1882 or 1883 at Mystic, Conn. as the Hiram R. Dixon. Renamed Caribou in 1904 when rebuilt by William Marlton at Goderich, Ont. Owners include: A. Booth & Co., Chicago, Ill.; United States & Dominion Transportation Co.; Dominion Fish Co., Winnipeg, Man.; later Booth Fisheries of Canada, Toronto, Ont.; Dominion Transportation Co.; Owen Sound Transportation Co. 1955 abandoned and dismantled at Sault Ste.
