Milwaukee Wis., Jan. 14. - Shipyard work at this point has been only moderate in amount thus far the present winter. Calkers have plenty to do, and will be busily engaged until well along toward spring, but no very large force of ship carpenters will be required at any time. The stationary dry dock is now occupied by the steamer MAGGIE MARSHALL for repairs which will require an expenditure of perhaps $6,000. The heavy fire damage recently sustained at Chicago by the steamer HORACE A. TUTTLE is to be repaired here. To place the hull in good shape will require an expenditure of $15,000. The TUTTLE was towed here on Sunday last. The steamer ARIZONA is repairing damage sustained through stranding on Presque. Isle, Lake Huron, late in November. She is to be followed by the tow barge PLYMOUTH which also suffered damage on Presque Isle.
