THE ALLIANCE. - Ex-Alderman Haggart, has named his new boat, which was built last fall by Bidwell, Banta & Co., for the ferry at Black Rock, the " ALLIANCE. The name is very suitable, and the boat is exceedingly well fitted for the ferry business. During the past month she has been completely overhauled and put in the most perfect condition. She has been re-painted, and her cabins have been fitted up in a superior style, with cushioned seats and carpeted floors. No complaint can now exist against the boat or its management, and as the rates of ferriage have been lessened it is to be presumed that the intercourse between the two sides of the river will be largely increased. The boat is commanded by James Haggart.
