The Amherstburgh Courier gives the following account of vessels building at that place:
"The CONDUCTOR - This is a large vessel, just launched. She is 250 tons burthen, and is to be rigged as a three masted schooner. She will be ready as soon as the navigation opens, and will be commanded by Capt. Robert Hackett, an experienced and trustworthy seaman. This magnificent vessel is owned by those enterprising gentlemen, the Messrs. MacLeod & Park.
There are several other vessels progressing rapidly, one of 100 tons burthen, owned by Mr. Augustus McKenney, another by Mr. Thomas Salmoni, and a third by Mr. MacLeod."
