- Full Text
Another excursion steamer is soon to be added to Buffalo's growing fleet. Where she will find a dock to land her passengers is an open question. The stmr. CORONA has been bought by the Woodlawn Beach Co., and will be running to the new South shore resort before August. The CORONA is a sidewheel steamer, 173 ft. long, of 45 ft. beam and 11 ft. depth of hold. She was built at Manitowoc in 1869 and registers 374 tons net. The CORONA had an entire rebuild in 1883, and is now in Manitowoc receiving another extensive overhauling. When repairs are completed she will be rated A 2 in Inland Lloyds with a valuation of something over $20,000. The price paid for her is not obtainable. The CORONA was formerly owned by the Goodrich Transportation Co.
