LAUNCH OF THE EXPRESS STEAMER. - The new steam packet at Cram & Knapp's yard, Rochester, was to be launched yesterday, the Union says. Owing to the peculiar construction of the wheel guards, she had to be put into the element slowly and with care; hence there was nothing attractive to spectators in the launch. Mr. Otis has the engines nearly completed, and the steamer will no doubt be ready to make a trial trip in the course of next week.
