A schooner named the THOMAS W. FERRY was launched from Jones shipyard at Detroit on Tuesday. Her extreme length is 230 feet and 180 feet keel with 30 feet beam and 14 feet minimum bed, maximum 16 feet. She is owned by Capt. P.J. Ralph and son, and A.C. Burt. She cost $40,000.

On Tuesday last (4/16) a staunch and handsome 3-masted schooner of between 500 and 600 tons burthen, named the THOMAS W. FERRY, was launched at Detroit. Her extreme lenght is 230 ft., 180 ft. keel, 30 ft. beam and 16 ft. depth of hold. She is intended for the grain trade, and will be commanded by Captain Harrison.
