Besides Capt. Daniel Langan and first mate James Loftus of Chicago, the following are said to have been on the ill-fated schr. EDWARD FITZGERALD, which is wrecked at Port Rowan; Robert Stevens of Toronto, Charles Bingham, of Leamington, Andrew Merguson, residence unknown and Mary Scoville, stewardess. The deceased was 33 years old. Her mother and sister are residence of Buffalo. She leaves a daughter aged 16 and a son of 8 who also lives here. Mrs. Scoville shipped from Buffalo November 11, and this was her first trip. The request is made that if her remains are recovered, notice be sent to her sister, Mrs. Ellen Easton, care of Rowle's intelligence office, 144 Main St., this city. John Haley, owner of the schooner, returned yesterday from the wreck. He says she is breaking up and her wheat is washing out. No bodies had been found when he left. Mr. Haley thinks that the crew might have been saved if they had gone into the rigging instead of taking to the yawl.
In regard to the loss of the schr. FITZGERALD on the Canadian shore last week, we understand that Mr. Hickler, of this city, was in the immediate vicinity of the vessel with his tug, but could not go to the rescue of the crew owing to the absurd regulations of the Canadian government concerning wrecking under which his tug would have been liable to seizure, if he had offered assistance.
