NEW VESSELS. - The Chicago Dem. Press says:- The number of new vessels that have been brought out this season, and which we have noticed, is large. Nevertheless, new ones appear in our harbor every time the wind favors the arrival of the fleet from below. Among the new ones, we noticed, yesterday, the schooner AUGUSTUS FORD, of Sacketts Harbor, and COMMENCEMENT, of Black River, Mich. The FORD was built at Sackett's Harbor for the Captain, Samuel A. Ford, at a cost of $10,000. Its dimensions are 107 feet keel, 24 feet 6 inch beam, and tonnage 250, according to Custom House measurement. The up cargo was 337 tons coal for Messrs. Adams. The COMMENCEMENT was built at Holland, (the Dutch settlement on Black River, Michigan,) by Mr. A. Plugger, the owner, and is under the charge of Capt. E.O. Koloman. It's tonnage is about 100.
