We notice the arrival of the brig GLOBE in port yesterday with a cargo of coal, and as she has been one of the most reliable built vessels of her day, and, at one period of her exsistence, the fleetest, we append the following brief history of her career: The GLOBE was built at Buffalo by Bidwell & Banta, in 1844, for Capt. Wm. Dickson, recently deceased, who was one of the pioneer captains on the lakes, commanding for many years numerous steam and sail vessels, commencing as early as 1829. She was built strong and substantial and was considered a master piece of workmanship. In 1862 she underwent a thorough rebuild, and today there are a few better sea going vessels on the lakes.
