A Canadian exchange says the commander of the gunboat HERON received orders to leave Toronto on Thursday, and cruise the St. Lawrence in the neighborhood of Prescott. The CHERUB, at Goderich, is ordered to Lake Ontario, and the Dominion gunboat PRINCE ALFRED, now at Goderich is ordered to the Niagara River, opposite Fort Erie.
