We learn from the Chicago news, that a vessel called the SCAMMON, after Mr. J.Y. Scammon of that city was launched on the 15th. She was built by Mr. James Averill, the builder of the MARIA HILLIARD and prop. INDEPENDENCE, both beautiful models. The SCAMMON is a vessel of 192 tons, and is destined for the lumber trade.
