Mineral State (Schooner), U90494, 12 May 1873

Description
Full Text

The new vessel built at John Oades shipyard the past winter, and quite recently launched, has been named the MINERAL STATE, and is now nearly ready for sea. Her dimensions are as follows: Length of keel, 137 ft.; beam 36 ft. 2 inches; depth of hold 11 ft. She will register not far from 350 tons, and is of full canal size. The MINERAL STATE is a well built craft, and there is probably no stronger on the lakes. She has also a good model. She has 3 masts, and is wire rigged, and will, beyond a doubt, prove a good business vessel.
