LAUNCHES. - A new propeller was launched on Saturday, at the yard of Bidwell & Banta, for the Western Transportation Company. She was built for Robert Montgomery & S.S. Guthrie, and was sold by these gentlemen to the W.T. Co.
Bidwell & Banta also launched the schooner C.N. JOHNSON. She measures 140 feet keel, 26 feet beam, 11 feet hold, and registers about 375 tons. She was built for E.K. Bruce, by whom she was sold to J.S. Johnson.
Van Slyke, Notter & Co. are to launch this afternoon from their yard, foot of Genesee Street, at 4 o'clock, the tug they have been building for the Chicago Mutual and Garden City Insurance Companies of Chicago, and the Star Insurance Company, of Ogdensburgh. This vessel is to be used in and about the harbor of Chicago and neighborhood.

The new propellers NEPTUNE and TONAWANDA, belonging to the Western Transportation Company, went out this forenoon to try the effectiveness of their machinery. The latter is of the first class, and both are fine specimens of what our Buffalo mechanics can do in that line.
