The Canadian stm. NIAGARA is being lengthened 34 1/2 ft. at Detroit. She will be full canal size.

Detroit, Aug. 23. -- The steambage NIAGARA will be out of dry-dock in about a week. The work of lengthening her out is very thoroughly done, and when completed the NIAGARA will be the best Canadian steam barge afloat.
