An important change has taken place in thie Erie Railway Steamer line within a few days past. We are informed that the Erie Railway Steamboat Co. have sold their fleet of splendid steamers to the Erie Railway Co., and they will hereafter be known as the Erie Railway Line Steamers. The transfer was made early in the present week, and the steamers are now being run under the new auspices. The vessels included in the transfer are the NEW YORK, ELMIRA, OLEAN and PASSAIC, of the Toledo Line, and the WABASH, TIOGA and CANISTEO of the Detroit Line. No change, so far as is known, will be made in the running arrangements of the steamers during the present season. Mr. S.D. Caldwell, of Buffalo, whose success in the management of lake steamers has been almost without parallel, will continue to act as manager of the line, a guarantee to shippers of produce that the same liberal facilities will be afforded for the transportation of the products of the West that have rendered the "Erie" so popular. - Toledo Blade.
