Maritime History of the Great Lakes

Pacific (Steamboat), 11 Aug 1853

Description
Full Text

The PACIFIC leaves for the Saut at 2:00 this afternoon, connecting with the SAM WARD, on Lake Superior, which latter boat starts on the 11th, on a pleasure excursion around that lake. On this trip, the SAM WARD will stop at Grand Island, Copper Harbor, Ontonagon, Fond du Lac, Pigeon River, Marquette, Eagle River, La Pointe, Isle Royale, Prince's Bay, and Michicopotin, thus giving the excursionists an opportunity to witness all the wonders of Lake Superior. Numbers of our citizens will doubtless avail themselved of this chance to see hyperborean "elephants." The SAM WARD is a good boat, and her accommodations are of the first order.
